Yellowstone Season 6 Trailer & Release Date?

Yellowstone Ending After Current Season 5

Popular Western Drama Will Conclude

Yellowstone, the hugely popular Western drama on Paramount Network, will be wrapping up with the current fifth season. The show, starring Kevin Costner as Montana rancher John Dutton, has seen its audience grow exponentially since debuting in 2018. However, it has now been confirmed that there will not be a Season 6 of the show.

Rumblings of Behind-the-Scenes Issues

There have been reports of some drama behind the camera, particularly between lead actor Costner and the show’s producers. While specifics haven’t been revealed, it seems Costner hasn’t been happy with aspects of the production, leading to conflicts over schedules and locations. These rumored tensions apparently came to a head, factoring into the decision to end Yellowstone after Season 5.

New Show On the Way

The Paramount Network has announced that a new, yet untitled series set in the Yellowstone universe will premiere in December 2023. Several of the show’s cast members are expected to reprise their roles to some extent in the new program. So while Yellowstone is concluding, the story will continue in this follow-up project from creator Taylor Sheridan.

Disappointing News for Fans

Obviously, the conclusion of Yellowstone will come as very disappointing news to its many devoted viewers who have been engrossed in the soapy, addictive drama over five seasons. With its huge audience and CLIO Awards success, the show seemed destined for additional seasons. But in spite of its popularity, the curtain is being drawn on Yellowstone.

Hope for the New Series

While Yellowstone Season 6 won’t happen, fans can take some solace in the planned new series which will pick up threads from the original show. With the same creative team and cast, the new program may capture much of the same intrigue and entertainment that made Yellowstone a sensation.

  1. I think the writer should’ve at least listened to Kevin Costner for suggestions for the show and all of the people would still have jobs instead of having to find out looking for new roles to fulfill. I would love Paramount and the writer to be banned because of this. The fans gets something they like and it’s cut off because adults can’t come to decisions. Sounds like the government of the United States of America. Like duh…….

    • Lanette, we finally get something on TV that is worth while to watch and get our minds off of how screwed up our government is, and OMG, they start acting just like them…. and what happens? We lose it. Just like we are fixing to lose this nation if things don’t turn around real quick.

  2. No matter how they spin it, they are going to find that, without Costner, people won’t care about any new spinoffs.
Paramount bit the hand that fed them.

  3. We will watch any of Sheridan movies..and Costner is not the only one who made Yellowstone what it is.. Beth, Rip and rest of the crew makes Yellowstone the drama that it is… so we think any spin-offs will be better than not having nothing. Since Costner wanted to leave to start his own show HORIZON.. Sheridan should have killed him off in Yellowstone.. but that was just a thought that a lot of us Yellowstone fans had.

    • I agree. I’m waiting for the rest of 1923. Chances are I won’t watch Horizon. Yellowstone is of less interest to me than it was.
The only problem is that clause in the contract regarding the way Costner got to agree with how he was to be written out.

  4. I love this show. But, without Costner it will not last long… I will finish out whatever is left just to finish it. From there on I won’t watch either… Most everyone I know who watched it say the same thing. Noone can replace Kevin Costner in this show.. spin offs won’t make it either without him… no matter how good an actor is… Sorry! Many of our opinions are the same…
    God bless and good luck…..

    • Costner originally only wanted to do the 1 season not realizing that it was going to go as big as it did. However no one broke his arm or forced him to continue the other seasons. He would have been replaceable then just as he is now. It will be a bit different but it was mostly Beth, Rip and Beth’s feud with Jamie that made the show as far as I’m concerned.

  5. I hate shows that continue another part but they change actors.to it don’t work when you have someone wife or brother then all of sudden it’s new gace and I just can’t see viewing them as someone else.killing them off is one thing but don’t switch them out..don’t think they did that here but dislike shows that do

  6. Will we get a refund on the 2nd half of the season we didn’t get? Very disappointing. Can you at least who would of taken who out, Jamie takes out beth, or the other way around?

  7. I just started watching, and I couldn’t get enough. Why wouldn’t they listen to Costner he has been all hats at the same time, not smart on their side. This is a great show don’t mess it up with behind the scene politics. You are all adults put your big boy pants on and work through it. To many big egos, put them aside for the good of the show and give what the fans want, a good series.

  8. I really like this show and every actor especially beth and rip just started binge watching with my bf. Now that he’s “in to it” it’s gonna end?? Really Costner? You could have stayed and continued making $$ . I guess I will watch Frasier

  9. Honestly am very disappointed with TV anymore although alot of people feel we have no right to complain i disagree TV isnt free n we should have an Opinion, with that being said alot of viewers look forward to season after season especially of one that is as Great as yellowstone its like u are hooked and then they cancel why fix something that isnt broke ive never in 60 yrs of living was ever so into a series .every episode was as good as next & when u think how can they top that … they do !! & its not just the writter the actors bring it to life they are as important change them & how well they fit together & you lose what makes it Great ! Over & over this is done on series & people stop watching. You can only be let down so many times ! Honestly am sad writers dont see the importance of keeping people interested & showing them that if ratings are high they will keep series going & leave the actors who helped make it that still in ! I cant imagine watching & not seeing all that have been in gone all peices make puzzle even small ones ! 😔💔

  10. Just read the other day that the characters playing Beth, Rip, and Jaime are tired of Sheraton’s drama and are not returning for the new series either. Sheraton has a habit of not finishing what he starts, and then starting another project. Can’t very well blame the writers strike for not working on new seasons of Yellowstone and 1923 when you turn around and put out 2 brand new series. And his character on Yellowstone is arrogant.

First off the whole story will likely never be told but some highlights are Costner’s divorce threw a wrench in the works and the biggest wrench came with the writers strike that alone stopped production of most of the TV shows all of them have not been producing new episodes and the lawyers got involved and screwed up talks between costner and Paramount now everyone is just throwing their hands up blaming everyone one else for their own short comings.Sheridan and Costner could sit down and work it out it’s paramount that is pushing back is what I understand. And as mentioned previously in posts here while Costner is not the only actor but he has definitely been one that brought the crowd and the performance from all the oTher actors have been stellar and some of the best acting I have seen from a whole team. That’s what has made this show great in my opinion

  12. Loved Yellowstone, brilliant cast, I’ve never been so hooked by a show. I hoped that we would have got a Series 6, but sadly it appears Not…😢
Why start a show & discontinue it just like that ? Such a shame….
